I miss the rains down in Africa...

At this very moment, I am (or should be) packing furiously for my trip to South Africa!

I'm excited because it's my first long vacation in this scale in eons!!! Sure, I've taken short trips here and there (mostly tagged with work trips too), but nothing beats flying far, far away to somewhere that is entirely unfamiliar and immersing yourself in the people, places and culture there.

Travel has become integral to me as a photographer. Think of it, like a refreshing of

An Overcast Day at Robben Island

"While we will not forget the brutality of Apartheid, we will not want Robben Island to be a monument of our hardship and suffering. We would want it to be a triumph of the human spirit against the forces of evil. A triumph of of wisdom and largeness of spirit against small minds and pettiness; a triumph of courage and determination over human frailty and weakness; a triumph of the new South Africa over the old." - Ahmed Kathrada

Just as most would think of the word "apartheid"

JUST A PEEK :: A Static Life

Without giving away too much, and also wanting a short break from vacation photos, here is a sneak peek of a recent engagement shoot I did. I'm afraid this is about as much as I'm allowed to reveal for now.

In the meantime, get ready for...

Something familiar... yet something new...

Something dreamy... yet something real...

Something cosy depicting life as it should

Je suis bohème

Just allow me this moment of vanity, alright?

I've had this amazing colour(s) for about a couple of weeks now, and I'm trying to fight fading as much as possible. All credit goes to Max from HaarAttic, he does great work. I sent this to him and yours truly is now on the gallery of his website!

Oh, vanity of vanities.

On the updates front, busy with editing and other projects on my end, and even those are fighting with my day-job for attention. I was just

Looking out from Cape Point

It has been a while since I had pure azure engulf my sights. Cape Point made me reminiscent of Western Australia, only there seemed to be more depth in both colour and landscape, but I guess that is how it is when you are comparing something from a fading memory to what is right before you.

What I knew about Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope was what was taught in the textbooks, and it overwhelms me when I think that what I am seeing is a geography lesson brought to

The Lion Sleeps Tonight

I have come to the conclusion that lions are indeed majestic creatures. Even behind barricades and fences. Now I know why they call them a pride of lions.

In this post, you will find yourselves in Gaborone, Botswana, where I continued on the second leg of my African journey. I'm such a city dweller, and cannot even remember when was the last time I've been to the zoo. So finding myself in front of the king of beasts literally took my breath away, I don't recall being this up close

Chasing Sunsets & Tangible Dreams

Six years ago, the thought of going to Africa was contained to just that, a mere thought. Something mentioned in passing to try and seal the bond of long distance friendships. The occasional conversation starter when people talk of travel - Africa: The continent less traveled, the land of zulu dreams.

I would never have guessed that courteous assent towards the topic would someday turn out to be a tangible dream.

Now, those friendships no longer remain ghosts of my

Hello, My Name is Amelia

Let me get around the formalities first… Welcome, to my website, and my blog. The latter of which will be used to post latest shoots from engagements, weddings, and even developments of latest projects, exciting stuff!

It has taken some time (some might say too
